Nithya Shanti is an internationally acclaimed teacher of conscious living. He completed his MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. Despite having a promising career, he was drawn to pursue his spiritual quest further. In 2002, he was ordained as a Buddhist monk, and then went on to live as a forest meditation monk for six years. Since 2008, he has been sharing his learnings through retreats and courses with a wide variety of audiences and institutions worldwide. His primary focus areas are "attention", "intention" and "foundation" which support people living with awareness, clarity and a deeper understanding of who they really are. He has studied hundreds of ancient and contemporary practices on the themes of emotional integration, conscious communication and untangling the roots of suffering in our being. His work is orchestrated by the Nithya Shanti Foundation, a nonprofit organization, with the purpose of reawakening a heart and earth-conscious culture based on wisdom and joy.

Meditation has multiple mental and physical benefits including decreased stress, lower anxiety, increased peace of mind, lower blood pressure, better sleep, deeper relaxation and increased connection to yourself and self-awareness.
There are many different types of meditation, which include but are not limited to mindfulness meditation which focuses on being present in the moment; transcendental meditation which involves silently repeating a mantra; a body scan meditation where you scan your body for areas of tension and a vipassana meditation which is a traditional Buddhist practice focused on insight.
Mindfulness meditation is a practice that involves paying full attention to the present moment without judgment. It includes observing thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they arise and pass. This type of meditation can help increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and improve emotional regulation.
