Sound therapy is a therapeutic practice that uses sound vibrations, music, and specialist instruments played in therapeutic ways to improve physical and emotional well-being. Instruments like gongs, tuning forks, and singing bowls help balance the body's energy centers, or chakras. The music can include wind chimes, percussion instruments, metal tubes, etc. Combined with deep self-reflection techniques, sound therapy induces deep relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances mental clarity, and promotes overall healing.
There are multiple benefits of sound healing therapy which can involve soundbaths, harmony meditations or sound therapy meditation. Benefits include stress relief, decreased anxiety, improved sleep, deep relaxation, pain management and lower blood pressure.
"Yes certain practices like a guided meditation, yoga or breathwork can be enhanced with soundbaths and sound therapy. The practice of healing with sound traces its origins to ancient Greece, where music was utilised to treat mental disorders. Historically, music has served various purposes: it has been employed to boost morale in military troops, enhance productivity, and even ward off evil spirits through chanting. In contemporary times, research has identified numerous health benefits associated with music. It has been found to boost immune function, reduce stress levels, and improve the health of premature babies, highlighting its therapeutic potential across various aspects of well-being."
Pranayama means the regulation of your breathing through certain breathing exercises. Examples of this include Anulom Viloma, Bhastrika, Ujjayi Breath, etc.
